China is about to abolish its funding for patent applications, and all financial subsidies for patent authorization will be cancelled before 2025
Recently, the CNIPA issued a notice regarding further strengthen regulation of patent applications. The notice pointed out that further adjustment and improvement of funding and incentive policies and complete cancellation of funding for patent applications will be carried out, and that new focus would be on increasing support for exploitation & utilization of IPR, administrative protection and public services. Streamline and standardize the order of patent applications, crack down and effectively curb irregular patent applications that are not aimed at protecting innovation, and promote the high-quality development of the IPR industry.
