Recently, the 2026 International Conference on the Development of Intellectual Property Services Industry was held at Shougang Park in Beijing. Hui LI, president of Sanyou, was invited to join a roundtable dialogue on "Global IP Talent Cultivation," where he shared his views on the competency requirements for cross-border IP talent, the supply-demand gap for industry talent, and pathways for cultivating IP talent in the AI era.

Regarding the supply-demand gap in industry talent, he shared Sanyou's approach to talent development: through long-term and short-term training at home and abroad, connecting domestic and international qualification certifications, opening access to overseas database resources, and building a two-way exchange platform among industry, academia, and research, in order to address the shortage of internationalized talent. In the face of the changes AI is bringing to the IP industry, he believes that the focus of talent should shift toward high-value work such as risk assessment and strategy design, establish a regular lifelong learning mechanism, and continuously strengthen cross-disciplinary thinking across technology and law to better serve innovation in frontier industries.
