1 The Supreme People's Court of China announces the 2024 Work Report

The 2024 work report of the Supreme People's Court focuses on high-quality development and enhancing judicial service guarantees. Below are key measures.

1. Focusing on key/core technological breakthroughs and industrial development by strengthen the judicial protection of intellectual property rights in the fields of new generation information technology, high-end equipment, biomedicine, new materials, etc., and promoting the transformation of innovative achievements.

2. Judicial protection of technical intellectual property rights. In the six years since its establishment, the Intellectual Property Court of the Supreme People's Court has concluded nearly 20000 appeals involving technical intellectual property rights. Among them, the number and proportion of cases involving strategic emerging industries have been increasing year by year, which signifies that the court has provided strong judicial protection for the innovative development of strategic emerging industries.

3. Legal application for AI issues. Disputes involving artificial intelligence shall be handled properly in accordance with law to support the lawful application of artificial intelligence. Whereas infringements using AI technologies shall be punished to ensure standardized and orderly development.

4. Enhance innovation protection. For cases of malicious infringement and serious circumstances, apply punitive damages mechanisms in accordance with the law to strengthen the deterrent effect; The case of infringement of technical secrets of "new energy vehicle chassis" was tried in accordance with the law, and a compensation of 640 million yuan was awarded. The calculation standard for delayed performance fees was clarified, and the implementation of the judgment document was promoted to effectively protect the core technical rights and interests of the enterprise.

5. High level service and opening-up. 26000 foreign-related civil and commercial cases were concluded, marking a year-on-year increase of 6.1. 18000 cases of commercial arbitration judicial review were concluded, marking a year-on-year increase of 11.7. 5644 international judicial assistance cases were handled, marking a year-on-year increase of 15.4. In all cases, equal protection was given to the legitimate rights and interests of both Chinese and foreign parties.

Recently, the 3rd Guangdong Trademark Brand Annual Conference, hosted by the Guangdong Trademark Association, came to a successful conclusion. More than 400 well-known enterprises, administrative agencies, universities, industry associations, and service institutions from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area gathered for this meeting.

She introduced specific cases of how to use cutting-edge AI technologies to reshape workflow, improve efficiency and work quality.

At the annual meeting, Sanyou was awarded the title of "Phoenix High Value Trademark Brand (Enterprise)" for its outstanding contributions in the field of trademark and brand for 39 years.
