Hunan Sangzhi: Assistance in the Construction of Grain Factory in Chenjiaping Village

Nurturing farmland and promoting agricultural development

Hidden in the folds of the Sangzhi Mountains, Chenjiaping Village has its own smoky atmosphere - the bluestone road winds around the terraced fields, the stilted houses are built against the mountains, and the corn skewers and rice ears hanging under the eaves are the most simple harvest marks of the villagers. This is a typical mountainous farming village, with thousands of acres of terraced fields spread along the mountain terrain. The rice grown here has a particularly fragrant taste due to the large temperature difference between day and night and the irrigation of mountain springs. However, due to the rugged mountain roads and scarce flat land, it is also hindered by the difficulty of drying grains. In 2024, this problem that has plagued several generations in the village was solved by a 200000 yuan public donation from Sanyou. A brand new steel structure factory for drying grain was erected at the end of the terraced fields, allowing Chenjiaping‘s good grain to no longer rely on the sky to "survive".

As a provincial-level demonstration village for rural revitalization, Chenjiaping‘s characteristic is not a uniform farmland, but a unique model of "mountain terraced farming"-villagers rely on the farming skills passed down from their ancestors to cultivate layers of terraced fields on the slopes, and the rice and corn grown are famous local "mountain goods" and the main source of income for every household. But this feature also brings exclusive troubles: scattered terraced fields, scarce flat land, and not enough large drying fields. During the harvest season, villagers can only spread their grain on the drying platforms of their own stilted houses, the bluestone roads at the village entrance, and even on the open spaces in the mountains. Encountering continuous rainy weather, the plump grains absorb moisture, sprouting at the slightest and moldy at the heaviest. The villagers are anxious but helpless as they watch the good grains they have worked hard to grow deteriorate. "Difficulty in drying grains" has become a "heart disease" that restricts the development of this characteristic village.

After learning about the plight of Chenjiaping Village, San You decided to lend a helping hand. In 2024, 200000 yuan of construction assistance funds will be available in time, the China National Intellectual Property Administration will actively coordinate, and the village committees will fully cooperate. The construction of the grain drying steel structure plant will officially start. During the construction period, the workers and masters worked overtime, and the villagers took the initiative to contribute their labor. Everyone worked together to ensure that the factory building was completed and put into use as soon as possible.

Not long after, a silver gray steel structure factory quietly stood at the end of the terraced fields in Chenjiaping, complementing the surrounding stilt houses and bluestone roads, becoming the most smoky "new landmark" in this ancient village. In the factory building, professional drying equipment is neatly arranged to meet the drying needs of mountain rice. There is no need to look at the weather. Wet rice that has just been harvested from the terraced fields can be dried and shelled shortly after being sent in, locking in the original flavor of mountain rice. This factory not only solves the problems of Chenjiaping Village, but also radiates to surrounding villages, benefiting more mountainous grain growers. Villagers hold dried golden rice and smile, saying, "In the future, our good grain in Chenjiaping will no longer be afraid of rainy days and can be sold at a good price.

This factory, built at a cost of 200000 yuan, not only carries the function of drying grain, but also represents the responsibility of the enterprise and the care for the villagers. It has filled the gaps in local agricultural postpartum services, provided more reliable guarantees for the hard work of villagers, and laid a solid foundation for the industrial development of Chenjiaping Village. As the founder of Sanyou, Li Qiang, once said, enterprises should actively give back to society and contribute to the construction of beautiful rural areas through practical actions.

Nowadays, the drying equipment in the factory runs day and night, and the rice harvested from the terraced fields is continuously fed into the factory. The dried grains are full and shiny, retaining the unique aroma of mountain crops. A public welfare investment of 200000 yuan, without fancy rhetoric, has accurately solved the "characteristic dilemma" of Chenjiaping Village - it not only retains the characteristics of mountainous terraced farming, but also fills the gaps in postpartum services. The bluestone road still winds and the stilted houses are still scattered, but in the smiles of the villagers, there is less‘sun drying sorrowand more sense of security. Chenjiaping Village, with this public welfare warmth, is bringing good mountain food out of the mountains, revitalizing characteristic agriculture, and creating its own unique appearance on the road to rural revitalization.
